Volume of a Sphere

Volume of a Sphere

How to find the volume of a sphere: formula, example, and its solution.

Formula

V = (4/3)*pi*(r^3), V: volume of a sphere, r: radius of the sphere

V = (4/3)πr3

V: Volume of a sphere
r: Radius of the sphere

Example

Find the volume of the given sphere. r = 6.

r = 6

So V = (4/3)π⋅63.

To cancel the denominator 3,
split 63 to 6⋅62.

Then cancel the denominator 3
and reduce 6 to 2.

4⋅2 = 8
62 = 36

8⋅36 = 288

So V = 288π.
