Complementary Angles
How to solve the angles that are complementary: formula, 1 example, and its solution.
Formula
Complementary angles are two angles (∠1 and ∠2)
whose sum of the measures are 90:
m∠1 + m∠2 = 90.
Unlike a linear pair,
complementary angles
don't have to be adjacent to each other.
Example
Solution
Solution (Detail)
It says
the given two angles are complementary.
So [30] + [8x + 4] = 90.
30 + 4 = +34
Move +34 to the right side.
Then 8x = 56.
Divide both sides by 8.
Then x = 7.
So x = 7 is the answer.
