Sector: Area
How to find the area of a sector: formula, 1 example, and its solution.
Formula
A = πr2⋅[θ/360]
A: Area of a sector
r: Radius
θ: Central angle (in degrees)
πr2 is the area of the whole circle.
θ/360 is the ratio of sector/circle.
Exampler = 6, θ = 120º, A = ?
Solution
Solution (Detail)
r = 6
θ = 120º
A = π⋅62⋅[120/360]
π⋅62 = 36π
120/360 = 1/3
36⋅[1/3] = 12
So 12π is the answer.
